The series main character is Kobayakawa Sena, and the plot revolves around him, how he grows from a guy who only knows how to run to a great American Football player.
In the first volume his potential coughs Hiruma’s eye and he practically
forces Sena to join the Deimon Devil Bats, which is the American Football team
of Sena’s school.
To prevent other clubs to try and steal Sena away, because of how well he runs, when Sena first enters on the field, he wears a helmet with an eye shield, and so he comes to be known as Eyeshield 21.
During their first tournament Deimon Devil Bats are eliminated early by the
hands of Oujou White Knigts, and their next chance is during the autumn tournament.
During the series the teams and the character grow up from weaklings to almost the strongest. With intelligence, force and speed, Deimon Devil Bats manage to come to the Christmas Bowl and win it.
The end of the series comes with Japan VS USA where the two teams at first do a draw, but they decide on their own to play overtime.
In the end Sena becomes the captain of the Deimon Devil Bats after Hiruma graduates and the last page shows all the character’s life.
